Play Events

To further enrich the IPA Triennial World Conference program, the committee will offer several free Play Events throughout the week of September 12-15 for the delegates, their families and Calgarians.

In partnership with the Government of Alberta, these family friendly events will showcase the various organizations in Calgary and the tremendous work they do around promoting, supporting and encouraging play. These events will take place outdoors and are geared towards child-led free play.

Here are the details.  All events will take place at Olympic Plaza (228 8 Ave. S.E.)

There is also an opportunity to join us for our Monstrous Adventure Playground on Saturday, September 16 at Shaw Millennium Park (1220 9 Ave. S.W.) from noon to 4 p.m.

The playground will be a dynamic space where children can explore, create, imagine and learn in their own way. It will be messy, dirty, chaotic, unconstructed, unstructured, unlimited, unadult and fun. To our children, it will look like paradise with endless possibilities!
