We are delighted to have Doug Mitchell as our very active Honorary Chair for the conference. His tireless energy and commitment is astounding and he is a well-known champion for community causes.

“Bringing the IPA’s Triennial World Conference to Calgary will have a significant and powerful impact on our city. It will help people to understand the importance of children’s play and the many physical, social and mental benefits that it offers. The freedom to play in my childhood provided me with the physical and mental aptitude that I needed to become a professional football player and a lawyer. We need to make children’s play a priority when we are making policy decisions and this conference will highlight that. It will promote the value of play and encourage decision-makers to take it into consideration when planning frameworks that affect the next generation and many more to come.”
