Who is this conference geared to? Who should attend?
The IPA Triennial World Conference brings together dedicated play researchers, advocates, designers, educators, practitioners, providers and policymakers from around the globe to celebrate play, understand its many benefits and provide all children with the chance to engage in rich, meaningful, free play…every day. Consider attending this conference if you work in one of the following fields: Education, Early Child Care, Playwork, Play Provision, Social Work, Research, Design Planning, Health, Play Therapy, Recreation, Child & Youth Advocacy, Children’s Rights, Psychology, Architecture, Landscape Design, Children’s Geographies, Play Policy, Parks and Community Services.

What are the registration fees? 
Please see our registration page for all details on registration costs.

Registration is Sold out. Will you be opening up any more spaces?  
As we receive cancellations we will make spaces available for registration for those already on the wait list.

The wait list is closed but I want to add my name?
Unfortunately, we will not be able to take any more names on the wait list.

My name is on the wait list. When will I know if I have been offered a spot?
We are only able to offer a space if we receive a cancellation. Do not book any travel or accommodation until you receive an email that invites you to register. We are unable to predict if you will be offered a space.

Can two people split a registration?
No, registrations cannot be split.

Will there be a fee waiver for presenters? 
All presenters are expected to register and participate in the conference. At this time we have no financial aid to offer to any delegates.

Where will the conference be held? 
The conference is being held at the Telus Convention Centre in downtown Calgary.

Do I have to be a member of IPA to attend the conference? 
No, although the cost of registration will be lower for members. Check out the IPA World website for a local branch.

Can I attend the Presidents’ Reception if I am not a member of the IPA?
Unfortunately not, this event is for members only. For member options, please click here.

I’m interested in attending a pre-conference tour.  Where is the pick-up location?
For each pre-conference tour, pick-ups will be arranged at each of the conference’s hotels.

Do you have any information on accommodation in Calgary?
Yes, we have some information here which will be updated regularly.

How do I book an exhibitors booth?
Please see our exhibitors page for all the details associated with having a booth at the conference.

How can my organization become a conference sponsor?

What are the dates and times of the tradeshow portion of the conference?
The Exhibitor Fair will run from September 13-14.

Not yet, this information will be posted on the website when it is finalized.
